This is a wonderful app to have in your Speech Therapy tool kit. While it is meant to be used for fluency issues such as stuttering, I have also found it helpful to use with some students struggling with articulation. The DAF (Delayed Auditory Feedback) seems to allow them to process how their words sound, and allow them to make corrections. The spectrogram also provides a visual of how each word should look like. I have taken screenshots of a word spoken by myself for my students to use as a comparison for their own speech productions. Sessions can be recorded and revisited, or shared via email. Speech4Good has recently been updated with a brand new interface. All the tools are now more easily accessible from one screen.
I decided to develop Speech4Good when undergoing speech therapy myself for a stutter back in 2009–I knew I wanted to include both visual and auditory feedback–but also have a place to take notes like a journal for my speech practice. I decided we needed a complete update of the app, which is now this new 2.0 version, about a year later–the mobile technology space moves so quickly that it’s important to continually refresh and update your app, so we spent almost two months re-designing Speech4Good for our users.
Speech4Good is an amazingly interactive speech therapy app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. With the touch of a button, Speech4Good is the best way to monitor, record and share your speech therapy experience.
Speech4Good is designed for speech-language pathologists and speech therapists to help students with stuttering, fluency, articulation, aphasia and other speech impediments.

What others are saying:
“It’s amazing the difference. I don’t think my student with autism realized how quietly he was speaking until I showed him on the app.”
