Rise of the Guardians Movie Storybook Deluxe

Rise of the Guardians Movie Storybook Deluxe

Review & Giveaway

Developer: iStoryTime

The “Rise of the Guardians” interactive storybook app retells the exciting story of the movie. Join forces with the legendary Guardians in this fully animated, narrated and interactive storybook. Fans follow Jack Frost, North, Tooth, Bunny and Sandy as they come together for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of the children from the evil spirit known as Pitch.

Auto Play, Read To Me, and Read To Myself narration options are offered and the interactive app further immerses fans into the action with two engaging activities, including:

• Russian Dolls: Ever wanted to have your own matryoshka doll set? With this in-app activity, you can use your photos to customize the dolls with your own face and message. After saving, you can share the animated movie via Facebook and Twitter or save to your device.

• The Sandman: This animated alarm clock features Sandy, the Guardian of Dreams. The alarm clock also features a snooze button.

This book app from iStorytime is well-done with its great graphics. There are 3 narration options to this interactive app: Auto Play, Read To Me, and Read To Myself. The story includes both narration and actual movie dialogue. Just touching the magical snowflakes on each page triggers animations. The crackling effect of winter is a nice touch! There are several in-app features including a set of Russian stackable dolls, which you can customize them yourself using your own photos! Also, the Sandman is an animated alarm clock with even a snooze feature! I do however dislike how the app requires 352 MB of memory, but with all the animation and in-app features, that shouldn’t be a surprise.
