Oceanhouse Media continues to add to their Berenstain Bears omBook collection with The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble With Chores!  Just like Oceanhouse Media’s other omBooks, the interactive pages, great narration, highlighted words, and sound effects make this app another fun omBook to add to your digital collection!

I really like the Jan & Stan Berenstain’s Berenstain Bears series as they can result in a good conversation with your child. In The Berenstain Bears and the Trouble With Chores, readers see what happens when Mama gets tired of everyone else in the family since they keep avoiding their chores. Therefore, Mama begins to avoid hers too, and one can just imagine what the result of that is. Once the others in the house see what the house looks like with no chores being done, they start to pitch in and help. This omBook is a great discussion about what chores are and why you should do your share and help with them. I talked about Mama’s feelings when no one would chip in to help. And also we discussed what happened to the tree house when Mama quit doing her chores and how that made the whole family feel.

Just like Oceanhouse Media’s other omBooks, you have the options to “Read to Me” (reader turns the pages, sees the words highlighted as they are read by a professional narrator) “Read it Myself,” (like a book where you turn the pages and read on your own with sound effects in the background,) or “Auto Play” (like a movie especially good for the younger audience.) Also, Oceanhouse Media has added the special feature “Record your own voice” to their omBooks, as another option to listening to the omBooks with the great narrator.

Papa Bear and the cubs always seem to find a reason not to do their chores, coming up with creative excuses and bickering with each other. When Mama Bear decides to avoid doing her chores as well, the mess builds up … and up … and up! The Bear family soon learns that living in a messy house is not much fun at all!

New features only available in this interactive omBook include professional narration, background audio and enlarged artwork for each scene.

To promote reading in young children, individual words are highlighted as the story is read and words zoom up when pictures are touched. By combining the original text and artwork with features that entertain and promote reading, this omBook appeals to readers of all ages.
